Field Trip

This word is a very scary word in the world of teaching, however, this field trip may have been one of my favorites. We started off off our day with a private tour of Lucas Oil Stadium. We ran on the field, walked behind the scenes, went in the visitors locker room (can't go in the Colts locker room) and gazed out the press box. If you ask the kids, their favorite part was the elevator ride (you could see the whole city) or the shower in the locker room. They couldn't believe is was all open! I loved being on the field and walking through the tunnel like the players. Also, there were some funny signs for the players I may have to post later. After our tour we made our way to Victory Field for an Indians game. We took a small detour on the bus, but it was great because we got to drive through I.U.P.U.I and the I.U./Clarian Med. Center. The kids got to see the Ronald McDonald House where all our pop tabs are going. We also passed the zoo and saw one of the baby elephants. We finally made it to Victory Field for an Indians game. It was Education Day, so all in attendance were school kids. There were kids from all over the state. I think that seeing all those different faces was a learning experience in itself. The Indians had activities between innings, prizes, kid-friendly music and the Indians won. The weather was beautiful, too. Overall, it was a great field trip!

Eyes, Bye-Bye and Elmo

Emma is obsessed with three things right now- her sunglasses, purse and Elmo! She calls her sunglasses, "Eyes" and we have to have them on every time we leave the house. I think my years of lifeguarding and my obsession over Oakley's have been passed on to her. We also have to take a purse wherever we go. She calls this her, "Bye-Bye." Emma doesn't want to put anything in her purse, but don't you dare try to take it! She is also still in love with Elmo. She has many stuffed Elmo's, but her favorite is the one that goes in her hair. She pulls it out to see him. I cannot wait for school to end so that Emma and I can play all day. We are going to have a fun summer with our Eyes, Bye-byes and Elmo!

Talents

Emma latched on to a toy from the neighborhood garage sale this weekend and she has been able to show her true talents. We are already thinking about agents and maybe American Idol. Check it out.

Emma also mastered the "So Big" trick. I had to show off this, too.

Road Trip

We hit the road to Chicago to visit Matthew, Debbie, Carter, Sadie and Bootsie this past weekend. Emma did well in the car, especially after she realized we had apples slices. We had a nice time hanging out and catching up. Boy, can Sadie move! She was crawling all over the house. Carter is getting smarter every day. He pitched us an idea of racing trains on train tracks. He was very specific about the tracks; "Not car race tracks- train tracks. Why don't they do it?" He may be on to something. Emma had fun keeping up with everyone. She followed Bootsie (the dog) all through the house. He never seemed to mind. I got a shopping trip in at H & M and spent all my money in the kids section. We tried to get a photo of all the cousins together, but you know how that goes when you have little ones. We did get good ones of them alone. Too sweet!

Easter

Easter was a beautiful day and it made for great pictures. Emma loved her Easter basket which included several Elmo hair clips. She was an expert at the Easter egg hunt and shook each egg before putting it in her basket. I loved her dress, sweater and hair clip. We were only missing the Easter bonnett!

Trip to Poseyville for Spring Break

Emma and I made a road trip to Poseyville over our Spring Break. We had a relaxing, fun-packed visit. The weather was beautiful, so Emma got a chance to "mow" the grass and smell the tulips. Of course, we made a visit to Momo's classroom and Papa's office. Emma was all about sitting in their chairs (and the little chair and the Cardinals seats). Emma got to watch the Acrodunkers at Momo's school. She loved the music. We also made a trip to Straub Photography. Emma had her pictures taken with live bunnies. She kept "woofing" at them. Straub's first took pictures of me when I was 2 and a half. It was great visiting with them. Emma was brave enough to ride the carousel at the mall. The last time we tried she cried the entire time! We had a great time catching up with old friends. We need to visit again soon. Love you Momo and Papa!
