The "Big Mobie"

I got brave enough to take Emma to her first movie in the theater. I have to admit, it was for me, too. We went to see Toy Story 3. I love these movies and was dying to see it. Emma did great. She weighed just enough to keep the seat down (Only after the movie did I see the booster seats). To our benefit, we were the only people in the theater. It didn't matter because Emma really behaved herself. The only time she talked out was when she got upset about the toys needing to get home. She was really upset with tears. I assured her that the toys always get home. I had to hide my tears at the end. :) The 3D glasses were cracking me up. She kept hers for a souvenir. After we left, Emma said that the "big mobie" was fun and she wanted to go to another one. Guess the day was a success!

Auntie B and Uncle Scott's Wedding

Matt's little sister or "Auntie B." got married this weekend in Bloomington. Betsy and Scott had a beautiful day, beautiful wedding and a wonderful reception. They had the same D.J. that we did and it was on I.U.'s campus, so it was a good party. Emma and my niece Hannah were flower girls. The girls did a fabulous job and were too cute! They danced the night away at the reception. It was an awesome day. Emma loved it so much she asked to wear her "weddin' dress" the next two days. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. We love you!

Be Careful When it Gets Too Quiet

I had Emma with me at school when I was packing up my things. She was so good, but then it got really quiet. To my horror I found her with a Sharpie decorating my desk (she drew inside the drawer, too). Lovely, eh? Thankfully the custodial staff was able to clean it up very easily!

Do we look sad or way too happy? Time for summer fun. I can't wrap my head around the fact I don't go back until August 2011. :)

Vera Bradley Sale

I finally made it to the big Vera Bradley Outlet Sale in Ft. Wayne. Let me tell you, it was an adventure. We left at 6:30 in the morning and got home at 5pm. I have never seen so many people wait patiently in line to get a bargain. We waited in line for about 2 hours and we were somewhat near the front. I can't imagine how long some of the people waited. The line stretched for miles. The good thing was that you never felt like you were waiting because the line was always moving. They had this thing organized! The line outside the stadium. Mind you, there was another line inside. They did have a beverage cart and port-o-pots to help with the wait!
Shopping. You just grabbed and threw it all in your pink bag. Later, you sat down and sorted it all out. They had bins where you could dump off what you didn't want. It was hysterical watching people dive in those bins.
Yes, people did hit this limit (selling on Ebay), but I didn't come close to this. :)
The check out line was like getting on a ride at Disney World. The line never stopped moving, but it took an hour from start to finish.
Was it all worth it? Yea, I got some good deals. My favorite was my new diaper bag that was originally $125 and I got it for $70. Fun time was had by all. Thanks to Robyn and Sandy for driving and keeping me sane. What a day!

Missing Mrs. Nash

Please read what my mom wrote on her blog about dear Mrs. Nash. You can try to get to my mom's blog, too: http://hoosier68.blogspot.com

Grandma Mrs. Nash
We lost a dear, dear friend this morning, Lucile Nash, affectionately known in our house as 'Grandma Mrs. Nash'. Lucile lived across the street from us for over 30 years. Because Meghan and Matthew's grandparents didn't live close, Lucile became their local grandmother. Mr. and Mrs. Nash were the first visitors when we brought home both babies from the hospital. She would visit their classrooms on Grandparents' Day and babysit when I needed a hand. Once when I taught in Evansville and John was busy, I came home to find her watching over Matthew who had come home early from school with a bad headache.Lucile made THE best cookies in the world and would always bring over a plate warm from the oven. Our all time favorites were the chocolate chip cookies and also the sunflower seed cookies. As many times as I have tried her recipes, I could never duplicate them.Through the years, she kept abreast of Meghan and Matthew's milestones and accomplishments as if they were a part of her family. Recently, she enjoyed hearing about Carter, Sadie, and Emma and we were able to share with her the news of our newest family addition due this summer.Lucile was a mother and grandmother to our family. We love you and miss you.

I will miss your yummy cookies and the candy in your gum drop/jelly bean jar. You were always like a grandma to me. We will all miss you dearly.

Toys!

Emma has some new toys that have taken over the house these days. She has had her Little People house for some time, but she plays with it all the time right now. She loves her Little People. The Easter Bunny brought her the ladybug Pillow Pet, which is now a bedtime favorite. We scored big with the Cozy Coupe this weekend with all the neighborhood garage sales. Emma doesn't move anywhere, but climbs in and out, in and out. She has been pretending to have tea parties almost every day, so I thought she should have a tea set to play the right way. Doesn't everyone need a tea service for two? I can already tell this summer is going to be tons of fun with all the toys!
