So Big!

We've realized in the past few days that Emma is happiest when she is sitting straight up or standing straight up. This proves to be a little

difficult when none of the fancy baby products help three month olds do this. Matt figured out this trick on the couch and Emma was thrilled. She looked out the window and babbled away for 15 minutes. She was so proud of herself!

Caught It!

After endless hours of taking pictures, I finally caught Emma showing off her adorable smile. I know all moms say

this, but when I see her smile, I just melt. I love picking her up first thing in the morning when she flashes that big, toothless grin. There is nothing better!

I Can't Put My Arms Down!

Three inches of fresh snow was a great opportunity for Emma to try out another one of her cute snowsuits. As you can see, Sheldon thought he needed to be a part of the picture, too. Emma kept sticking out her tongue and licking her lips while we were outside. I think it was her first attempt at catching snowflakes on her tongue. For a brief moment we thought about making snow angels. Maybe next year!

So Worried...

Is the sad face because she is concerned about the IU coaching situation, D.J. White's injury, the match-up against Purdue or because I keep putting that silly bow in her hair???

New Sweater

Grandma Shirley knit Emma this beautiful sweater and sent it to her this week. It is priceless! You can't see the details in the photo, but it is really gorgeous. I love the kitty buttons. Thank you, Momo!

Day Trip

We went to visit Grandma- Great today in Mooresville. Emma did really well in the car and at Applebee's. Grandma- Great is off to Seattle on Tuesday to visit with my aunt and her family, so I thought we needed to visit before she goes. Emma had alot to say today! Grandma -Great loved it!

I was so lucky to have two special Valentines this year. Emma was all decked out as cupid. I think she made a pretty sweet one!

Expectations

My nephew, Carter, started pre-school this week. This is what he reported when asked how his day went.

"Good. They didn't have any instruments."

You have to love the honesty!

Two Month Check- Up

Emma had her two month doctor's appointment yesterday. She weighed 11 pounds, 14 ounces and was 23 and 3/8 inches long. Her head measured "above average" in size. I think it is funny that we compare the size of their heads. I was more concerned that the peditrician pointed out that her head was becoming flat on one side. Now we have to work on exercising her neck so Emma looks the other way and stays off the flat part.
Emma was a trooper when she received her first round of vaccinations. I think it was harder on me! She was in a pretty good mood the rest of the day (as you can see in the picture). The evening and early hours were a little rough, but she is back to her smiling self this afternoon.

A Walk on the Wild Side

The weather was warm enough today to take a short walk around the neighborhood. I think the fresh air was good for both of us and I know the exercise was good for me. I couldn't resist sharing this picture of Emma in her warm pram. Made me think of all those bundled up babies I would see when I lived in Chicago. I may have to walk outside every day just to dress her up in this coat!

Emma is Two Months Old!

I can't believe Emma is already two months old. Time goes by so fast! Emma is happy, healthy and getting stronger each day. She has developed her own little vocabulary of "oh's" and is very vocal (wonder where that comes from?). We haven't been able to catch it on film, but Emma has a great smile. You just want to melt when she scrunches up her nose and gives you that toothless grin!

Photo Shoot

Like all new parents, we take ALOT of photos of Emma. Here are some cute ones we took this week. The top right one shows how Emma really feels about the frequent picture taking.
