Emma's First Parade

We took Emma out to her first parade today at the Fishers Freedom Festival. The parade was full of your typical Indiana fun; tractors, fire trucks, high school bands, cheerleaders and the Hadi Shriners. The kids were most amazed by the $300,000 combine. We all cheered for the soldiers and my second cousin, Grace and her Brownie Troop. She was so sweet and saved us some candy. The adults voted there needed to be some more music in the parade (of course Matt and I are comparing things to the Pride parade in Chicago). Emma seemed to enjoy at it all and never made a sound as the sirens went by her. Next year she will be fighting us for the candy.

Happy 87th Birthday, Grandma!

My Grandma Imy celebrated her 87th birthday this weekend with a festive party. We all met up at her house and enjoyed a yummy spread of food and birthday cake. Great Aunt Jeanne bought the little kids "Snappers" which kept them busy for a while in the drive-way. Grandma topped off her day with a ride in my dad's new car. I only hope I have as much energy as my grandma when I am her age. Happy Birthday!

Emma's New Bonnet

Our dear friend, Pat, made a beautiful bonnet for Emma and sent it this week. Pat did all the smocking on it. I think it is beautiful. Emma looks pretty proud of herself. Thank you, Pat! We will treasure this gift!!

Bathing Beauties

Emma went swimming with her friend Bella yesterday. They both loved the water and splashed around for a while even though the water was cold. Unfortunately, a thunderstorm popped up and we had to end our swimming party. We did manage to get this shot of the girls in their hats and suits. They are certainly bathing beauties!

Hanging Out with My Birthday Buddy

Emma and I went hung out with Quinn and his mommy yesterday. As you may recall, Quinn and Emma were born just a few hours apart at the same hospital (see January blog). They were so funny together. They giggled and babbled at each other like they were sharing some deep, dark secrets. We were sure they were reminiscing about those early days at the hospital. I can't believe they are six months old!

Taking a Bath

With Daddy gone to Texas, I had to figure out a way to give Emma a bath without lifting a heavy tub or bending over into the bath. Grandma Shirley reminded me of all the baths we took in the kitchen sink, so we tried it. Emma loved being able to sit up in the water and splash. Honestly, I think she liked her rubber ducky the best!

Peek -a- Boo!

I had to capture Emma's face when she wakes up from her naps. I usually find her in her crib playing with her feet. She never cries or whines. She just peeks through the slats of her crib and smiles at you. It is too cute. Don't you wish they stayed little like this forever?

Cousin Hannah

Cousin Hannah was here this past week visiting from Connecticut and I think it is safe to say she adores Emma. Hannah had to be watching, touching, holding or near Baby Emma at all times. Good thing she is baby crazy. Hannah is getting a baby brother in the fall. Of course, she wants to name him Baby Emma. :)

Emma's New Pool

We tried out Emma's new froggy pool yesterday. She loved everything about it. She only made one nose dive into the water. I used my expert lifeguarding skills and scooped her to safety. We couldn't get her out of the water. She kept wanting to play in it! I may have to start teaching her to swim!

Emma did this on her own. I guess she was ready to lounge.
Emma's first attempt at the front crawl. I was impressed with the effort!

Looking cute in the froggy pool! Don't you love the hat?

There go my plans of teaching Emma all the proper diving techniques and taking a nap while she is swimming.

Playing Outside

Emma and I sat outside last evening, enjoying the nice weather. Emma had a great time beating her drums, playing with her super-duper bouncy ball (my niece's title for this) and letting the wind blow in her hair. Emma also had a great time visiting with all the neighbors that stopped by to say hello. Next up is the new frog pool!

Stinking Cute

Emma spent most the day yesterday in her pajamas. It wasn't because I was lazy and didn't want to change her, it was because she looked so cuddly and cute!

It's Working!

Don't know why I couldn't upload photos, but it finally fixed itself. A lot has happened at our house in the past few weeks. Last night, our house was hit by lightning. We had the fire department here at 3AM with 10 firemen checking out the damage. Luckily, it was only minor. You can see the the nice charred hole below in the photo. Very scary! Now the fun stuff. Here is Emma enjoying her swing. She loves it!
Emma has discovered wooden spoons. She loves to bang them and chew on them. No worries. This is a non-splinter wooden spoon.

Cousin Carter (and Uncle Matthew and Auntie Debbie) came to visit over Memorial Day weekend. Carter liked Emma a lot better now that she smiles and laughs at him.

Emma got two teeth! Can you see them?

Here is Emma just being cute.

Hopefully, I will be back on track now with the blog. Enjoy!

So Frustrating

I haven't been able to upload photos for about 10 days now and I am so frustrated. If anyone has any hints on how to fix, please let me know. I have a ton of funny pictures to share!
