More Pictures

Here are some more pictures of Emma from the photo shoot.

Photo Shoot

Since Cousin Hannah was here, we took the girls to Portrait Innovations for a photo shoot. It went really well considering we had a two and a half year old and a four month old. The pictures turned out great. I had to put the one of them standing. That was our try at a pose. I think the professionals did a much better job!

Better Late Than Never

I decided that if Emma was going to have her multiplication facts memorized by the start of third grade, I needed to start now. She is doing really well with her 2's, 3's, and 5's, but we need alot of work on the 7's. Doesn't she look excited to learn? (Joking aside, she is helping me while I tutor).

So Many Hits!

Wow! Over 1,500 hits on our site. Guess I will keep writing!

Hi, Cousin Hannah!

We got a last minute visit from Cousin Hannah all the way from Connecticut this week (her mommy and daddy came, too). We were all happy to see the family. Hannah is so funny these days. She has a BIG vocabulary. Her new word is "somehow", but she uses it is funny ways. For example, Me: "How old is Baby Emma." Hannah: "Well, maybe 2 and a half somehow." Too funny. We are planning on getting the a professional picture taken of the girls while Hannah is here. I thought my photo was pretty good!

Will This Get Me In to Your School?

We are wondering if Emma's trick of holding her on bottle at 4 months will help get her in to childcare more quickly? We made a visit to The Goddard School today. Initially they said the wait was a year. After a visit today, it sounds more promising. Who knew we had to pull out all her tricks to get her in to a good place. Matt even shared that he thinks she will walk early (like that helped). So much pressure! I better get going and start teaching Emma to read.

Birthday Twin

My friend Kris and her son, Quinn, stopped by last week to help us out with Emma. Quinn and Emma were born on the same day (see beginning of our blog for that story). It was fun to see Emma interact with someone her age. She was very eager to touch Quinn's face. Good thing Quinn is laid back and just laughed. It was too much fun!

YUM!

Emma got to her first taste of rice cereal the other night. Dr. Boyce said it was time to try so she could learn how to use a spoon. As you can see from the photos, we need a lot of work with the use of a spoon. Emma did seem to like it. She licked her lips as fast as she could , tried to take the spoon and said, "M-m-m-m." Can't wait for the real food!

You Gotta Love Technology

I love all the great options we have with technology today. Aside from this blog (and reading others), I am obsessed with all the things my cell phone can do. From the ringtones to the videos to text messaging to the photos, I do it all. I often times forget to answer my phone because I am too busy dancing to John Mellencamp or Jon McLaughlin. It was awesome to immediately send a video of one of the first times Emma rolled over to her Auntie Amy in Connecticut and grandparents in Southern Indiana. I talk more to my brother now than I ever have through text messaging. My favorite has to be the photos. I have captured some of the best of Emma on my phone. I was flipping through them last night and decided to post my favorites. As I flipped through the photos, I realized I still had grainy photos of the first Colts home game as they unveiled the Super Bowl banner and some of the crowd on the field after the IU/Purdue football game. I guess I need to stop critizing all the people I see on T.V. that have their phones in their air snapping photos as Barack Obama passes by them. I am just like them. Priceless memories all captured in a tiny piece of metal. I am sucked in for sure!

I'll Help Daddy!

I don't know how much help she is really giving Matt, but it made for a cute picture, right? As long as Emma is up and looking around, she is very happy!

Happy Late Easter!

I was so bummed that I missed Emma's first Easter, we saved her Easter basket and gave it to her this past weekend. I think she really liked her goodies (no chocolate just yet). My mom reminded me to take the Easter basket hat picture. It might be my favorite. Even though we celebrated a few weeks late, it was all priceless!

Thank you! Love You!!

Thank you ever so much to Mimi Trees and Momo Wood for taking such good care of Emma since I have had my surgery. The Grandmas have been here to help doing everything from cooking, dusting, laundry, dishes, changing dirty diapers and mainly playing with Emma. They have taught her all kinds of new tricks. Emma is now rolling over, reaching for people and making attempts to crawl! I had to put this picture with the message because both grandmas are very fond of bonnets. I think Emma looks a little like Laura Ingalls Wilder. Thank you again for all the help. We still have a while to go before I am completely independent, but Mimi and Momo helped us through the roughest part. Love you!!

Emma's First Kiss

Ok. We are in trouble. It's bad enough that Emma is surrounded by little boys her age, but now they are kissing her!

This is Spencer planting one on Emma. Doesn't she look excited? Spencer's Dad has been friends with Matt since junior high and then married a Posey County girl that my family has been friends with forever. Small world, eh? No question that these two will be swapping Anderson and Poseyville stories for years to come.

Girlfriends

Emma got to hang out with her girlfriend, Bella the other evening. Bella, her mother Amy and I had just been to visit our new friend, Lily Victoria Matheus. Lily was born on March 31. Lily's mom, Angela, can't wait to get all three girls in a picture. We know one thing, these ladies will be friends for a long time, just like their mommies!

New Game

Emma's new game is to put EVERYTHING in her mouth. She works so hard at it sometimes it is almost comical. I hope she is this determined when it comes to homework.

Easter Memories

Since I had to miss Emma's first Easter, I made sure Matt took tons of pictures of the big day. They spent the day at our family friend's house. This is my favorite photo from the bunch. You can't beat the action shot of Emma's projectile vomiting and Liam sitting there so well behaved!
