Missing Mrs. Nash

Please read what my mom wrote on her blog about dear Mrs. Nash. You can try to get to my mom's blog, too: http://hoosier68.blogspot.com

Grandma Mrs. Nash
We lost a dear, dear friend this morning, Lucile Nash, affectionately known in our house as 'Grandma Mrs. Nash'. Lucile lived across the street from us for over 30 years. Because Meghan and Matthew's grandparents didn't live close, Lucile became their local grandmother. Mr. and Mrs. Nash were the first visitors when we brought home both babies from the hospital. She would visit their classrooms on Grandparents' Day and babysit when I needed a hand. Once when I taught in Evansville and John was busy, I came home to find her watching over Matthew who had come home early from school with a bad headache.Lucile made THE best cookies in the world and would always bring over a plate warm from the oven. Our all time favorites were the chocolate chip cookies and also the sunflower seed cookies. As many times as I have tried her recipes, I could never duplicate them.Through the years, she kept abreast of Meghan and Matthew's milestones and accomplishments as if they were a part of her family. Recently, she enjoyed hearing about Carter, Sadie, and Emma and we were able to share with her the news of our newest family addition due this summer.Lucile was a mother and grandmother to our family. We love you and miss you.

I will miss your yummy cookies and the candy in your gum drop/jelly bean jar. You were always like a grandma to me. We will all miss you dearly.
