Field Trip

This word is a very scary word in the world of teaching, however, this field trip may have been one of my favorites. We started off off our day with a private tour of Lucas Oil Stadium. We ran on the field, walked behind the scenes, went in the visitors locker room (can't go in the Colts locker room) and gazed out the press box. If you ask the kids, their favorite part was the elevator ride (you could see the whole city) or the shower in the locker room. They couldn't believe is was all open! I loved being on the field and walking through the tunnel like the players. Also, there were some funny signs for the players I may have to post later. After our tour we made our way to Victory Field for an Indians game. We took a small detour on the bus, but it was great because we got to drive through I.U.P.U.I and the I.U./Clarian Med. Center. The kids got to see the Ronald McDonald House where all our pop tabs are going. We also passed the zoo and saw one of the baby elephants. We finally made it to Victory Field for an Indians game. It was Education Day, so all in attendance were school kids. There were kids from all over the state. I think that seeing all those different faces was a learning experience in itself. The Indians had activities between innings, prizes, kid-friendly music and the Indians won. The weather was beautiful, too. Overall, it was a great field trip!
